The location was excellent to Sedbergh in a quite cul-de-sac. The house itself was comfortable with all necessary amenities. It was very clean for the most part. The bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfortable. The towels were big, lovely and soft. Fresh milk, tea, coffee and biscuits.
We had originally booked to attend a book festival that was unfortunately cancelled. We had booked the property as a non refundable price however I contacted the property well in advance of our stay to see if there was any possible partial refund. Whilst I understood that it was non refundable, I received no response to my messages or emails. The only communication was when I sent a cancelation request which was denied. In the end we travelled anyway to explore the area and make the best of the trip. I think that because the property is managed by Sykes Cottages (which we didn't know when booking), you lose the personal communication with the property owner.
Whilst the main bed was extremely comfortable the single bed was the opposite. I doubt an adult could have slept comfortably in it. Luckily no one had to sleep in it.
Just a minor detail that wasn't a big problem but didn't look very nice, was the thick dust in the bathroom extractor fan.
The shower was not good and no matter what temperature we changed it to, it was either scalding hot or freezing.
Maybe its just me or the location but I found £431 for two nights a bit pricey for what you get.
